  How It Works
  Port-of-Call and Global Port-of-Call

LibreTel can forward your calls either to a broadband internet phone (with your Port-of-Call subscription) or to a regular PSTN phone (with your Global Port-of-Call subscription).

What is a Broadband Internet Phone?

A broadband internet phone uses a broadband connection to the internet and can be any of the following:
  • An IP phone – a specialized hardware phone, which connects directly to your internal computer network. You can buy a preconfigured IP phone from http://www.pulverinnovations.com.
  • A preconfigured software phone for your PC or PDA. You can download this software from http://www.pulver.com/communicator/.
  • A regular home phone with a phone adaptor, which connects your telephone device to your internal computer network (for example, to a cable modem).

A broadband connection is high-speed internet access (with a bit rate higher than 100kps) provided by cable, DSL, framerelay or T-lines, and bonded or multichannel ISDN. Dialup modems and single channel ISDN do not provide a broadband connection to the internet.
